General troubleshooting
IMPORTANT: Please use Google Chrome first if you are having issues with Codio. Codio is unfortunately not well supported in other browsers such as Safari.
Work computers / VPNs
If you are on a work computer or connected to a VPN, it could be your employer's network is blocking certain types of browser requests. Try disconnecting from your work's VPN. If that's not an option, try a personal laptop or desktop computer.
Using incognito mode
Many issues can be caused by bad data in your browser's cache. An easy way to find out if this is the case is to try using Codio in incognito mode . To do this, open the main menu in Chrome (three vertical dots in the upper-right corner), and select "New Incognito window". Log into the mentor portal at https://hive.boldidea.org/ , and navigate to the Codio activity from the course roadmap . If everything works as expected, the issue can be resolved by clearing your browser's cache (see below).
Clearing Chrome's cache & cookies
To clear the browser's cache in Chrome, perform the following steps:
- Open the main menu in Chrome (three vertical dots in the upper-right corner), and click Settings
- Select "Privacy and Security" on the left menu
- Select "Clear browsing data"
-
Make sure the following boxes are checked:
- Cached images and files
- Cookies and other site data (this is optional, see note below)
- Select "Clear data"
Note: clearing cookies may log you out of your sessions on other websites. You can try clearing cache first, and if you are still having issues, try clearing cache AND cookies.
