Student Outcomes
Outcomes are the change in the student as a result of participating in our 14-week computer science mentoring programs. These are our primary outcomes:
- Create a positive perception of and interest in computer science
- Build confidence in their abilities to code and create with technology
- Create awareness for careers and fields of study in technology and engineering
- Grow their computer science skills and habits of mind
- Give students an opportunity for creative expression
Strategic Goals
Our Bold Idea strategic goals include:
- Seek to develop equitable access to computer science education for all students, regardless of gender, race, ethnicity or socioeconomics
- Create a positive perception of computer science along with feelings of computer science self-efficacy, especially among female and minority students
- Involve students in their own computer science learning by using projects + mentors as the instructional approach
- Measure and communicate the impact of our work
- Ensure operational stability and our ability to respond creatively to opportunities and challenges
- 75% of students will experience computer science for the first time
