Student Outcomes

Outcomes are the change in the student as a result of participating in our 14-week computer science mentoring programs. These are our primary outcomes:

  • Create a positive perception of and interest in computer science
  • Build confidence in their abilities to code and create with technology
  • Create awareness for careers and fields of study in technology and engineering
  • Grow their computer science skills and habits of mind
  • Give students an opportunity for creative expression


Strategic Goals

Our Bold Idea strategic goals include:

  • Seek to develop equitable access to computer science education for all students, regardless of gender, race, ethnicity or socioeconomics
  • Create a positive perception of computer science along with feelings of computer science self-efficacy, especially among female and minority students
  • Involve students in their own computer science learning by using projects + mentors as the instructional approach
  • Measure and communicate the impact of our work
  • Ensure operational stability and our ability to respond creatively to opportunities and challenges
  • 75% of students will experience computer science for the first time
