How to QA a mentor guide

  • Read through the guide from the perspective of a mentor preparing for the next session.
  • Are learning objectives clearly stated, and do they follow our guidelines ?
  • Does the guide give clear instructions on how to run the full session?
  • From a mentor's perspective:
    • Will mentors have a clear understanding of the session outline and timing of each section?
    • Overall, is it easy to read and understand?
    • Could it be formatted or arranged differently to make it easier?
    • When instructions are given, are they clear and specific?
    • Does anything merit further explanation?
    • Are additional examples or visual aids needed?
    • Is there anything that might need to be added to the "Preparations before class" section?
  • From a student's perspective:
    • Does the flow of the session as a whole make sense?
    • Is there anything that might leave students confused?
    • Does the timing of the sections seem to work well?

Status tags

The following wiki tags can be placed in the semester overview page to help keep track of the status of each session guide:

  • {{In Progress}} - Not yet ready for QA
  • {{Ready for QA}} - Session guide is ready for QA
  • {{In QA}} - Currently under QA review
  • {{Needs Review}} - Article has changes to be made per QA
  • {{QA Complete}} - Meaning this is DONE
